Alnmouth friary welcomes individual quiet day guests. You can arrive at/from 10am. We can provide you a key for the front door so you can come and go as you please. Day Guests often like to spend time reading in the library. Midday prayer and the Eucharist are at/from 12noon.
In 2026 day guests will either bring a packed lunch and eat in the library or pop into Alnmouth village for something to eat.
Day guests often go for a walk along the beach. If you are around at 4.30pm you can join the community for a cup of tea in the guest lounge and then Evening Prayer at 5pm.

Please note that the hermitage is reached by a flight of steps and is therefore not accessible for wheelchair users or those who may find steps difficult.
Inside the hermitage there is a kettle and a small mini-fridge available for visitors to use, helping to make a quiet day comfortable and welcoming. Those coming to spend time in prayer or reflection are warmly invited to bring a packed lunch and enjoy the calm setting at their own gentle pace.
Br Micael-Christoffer.
