In the summer the gazebo is a wonderful place to spend time. You can hear the birds sing and the sounds of the beach. The gazebo is a pleasant place to sit and read and to spend time in nature. Groups can also have lunch there and have a meeting. The friary gardens are a very pleasant place to spend time.

It's possible to support the gardens at Alnmouth friary by sharing seeds, plants and cuttings. We are beginning to plant fruit bushes and small fruit trees as we explore growing our own food. For example, a friend recently shared some rhubarb with us from her allotment that we have now planted in the garden.

The brothers at Alnmouth friary maintain the friary gardens, we do not have a gardener. If you are local you are welcome to volunteer in the friary garden. There are lots of ongoing tasks to be done such as weeding and pruning alongside other aspects of maintaining the grounds.
